iFixit - the free repair manual that you can edit.

You're sitting at home, on your couch listening to the iPod you got for christmas. Luckily for you its just past its warranty and decides to stop working. You call the store, no luck, Looks like its not getting fixed... or is it?

iFixit is a great new website devoted to self-repair. They help thousands of people repair their devices every day. 

Because companies like Apple don't provide repair parts and documentation to end users, iFixit does. They believe everyone should have the right to maintain and repair their products.

The real question

Today I have a simple post.

Very simple to be honest.

Are you happy?

This question is harder than it seems.

And if your answer is "no" I would like you to think of something.

What, right now, would make you happier more than anything in the world.

Beyond this, I have a challenge.

Go after this, whatever it may be.

Try, Don't be afraid of failure, and try with all your being.

If you don't know what you want, and you're not pursuing it, then what are you doing?

Chromium OS - A minimalist approach to the internet.

As you may or may not have noticed, for the past few days I have had a poll up asking about the amount of time on your computer spent in your actual web browser.

I recently found out about Chromium OS. Quite simply, it is an operating system, without the operating system. This may seem silly, but it allows for quick, easy, simple access to the internet. These videos are quite entertaining and can explain much better than I.

Teamviewer - the All-In-One Solution for Remote Access and Support over the Internet

TeamViewer is a solution for easy and friendly desktop sharing. You can remote control a partner’s desktop to give online assistance, or you can show your screen to a customer - all without worrying about firewalls, IP addresses and NAT. Teamviewer is an extremely useful tool when needing to access a computer from far away.

Say perhaps you have a less than savvy friend who is in need of computer assistance. You can easily connect directly to their computer using Teamviewer.

Teamveiwer comes in several different versions compatible with multiple operating systems. One version i find particularly useful is the portable version, able to be ran directly from a thumb drive.

Another benefit of Teamviewer is the ability to use the Web Connector, a purely html and flash based version, able to be used from nearly any browser or operating system.

Personally I use Teamviewer in order to have easy, quick access to MY computer when I'm away from home. Say, school for example.

TED - Ideas Worth Spreading

TED is a small nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. Along with two annual conferences -- the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh UK each summer -- TED includes the award-winning TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and Open TV Project, the inspiring TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.
